Blues Bash slated for next weekend

While the Melvin Wester American Legion Post 412’s annual corn roast and the Belgium Area Chamber of Commerce’s Summer Nights LIVE planned for Aug. 29 have been canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, entertainment will still be held that weekend.

The Great Belgium Blues Bash is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Aug. 28 and 29, in Belgium’s Community Park.

The event will feature a variety of bands each day, as well as food.

On Friday, the Jay Stulo Band will play at 6 p.m. and The Jimmys at 8 p.m.

Saturday’s lineup includes the Tommy Bentz Band at 2 p.m., Alex Wilson Band at 4 p.m., Shonn Hinton and Shotgun at 6 p.m. and Stephen Cooper and the Nobody Famous at 8 p.m.

Those attending are asked to bring chairs and blankets, since the park has a limited number of tables.

To reserve a table, email info@paramountmusic.org. The cost is $50 for the weekend.

The event, sponsored by the Paramount Music Association, is free but donations will be accepted.

Chamber Executive Director Tara Williams said she hopes to coordinate efforts to hold the corn roast, Summer Nights LIVE and the Blues Bash next year.
