John Hansen

Mr. John Hansen of Port Washington passed away in the evening hours of Monday, Feb. 21, 2022, at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon. He was 93 years old.
John was born in Milwaukee on July 21, 1928, the son of John Hansen Sr. and Mary Carels Hansen.
On July 27, 1946, he married Helen Lodle at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. She preceded him in death in 2016.
John worked as a welder for Kwik Mix and Trak International, retiring in 1992 after 41 years.
He was a member of St. John XXIII Parish in Port Washington and Local 1430 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
John was a former member of the Saukville Moose Lodge, the Holy Name Society and a former Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed woodworking, working on cars, traveling, especially casino trips, and crafting.
John is survived by his three children, William Hansen of Port Washington, Barb (Milton) Guetzke of Cedar Grove and Judy (Mark) Mathe of Oostburg, and his son-in-law Lyle Studer. He is further survived by nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Helen, his daughter Kathy Studer, his granddaughter Terry Hansen, daughter-in-law Kim Hansen, siblings Matthew and Lawrence Hansen and Elizabeth Eternick and sisters-in-law Mary Jane Murphy, Betty Eternick, Charlotte Valle and Lee Furyk.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 5, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 430 N. Johnson St., Port Washington. Father Patrick Wendt will preside over the Mass.
He will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Mausoleum in Port Washington.
Visitation will be held at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, on Friday, March 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a rosary service at 3:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or St. John XXIII Parish.
