Matthew Passen

Matthew (Matt) Passen of Port Washington, Wis., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021.
Born in Chicago on June 25, 1953, Matt was a graduate of Niles North High School and Southern Illinois University. He lived in Northbrook and Evanston, Ill., until moving to Wisconsin in 2017.
Matt was an avid sports fan, enjoyed an annual week at Horizon summer camp, activities with Portal Inc. and Threshold Inc., was involved in many community organizations and activities and was a strong self-advocate for people with disabilities over the years.
Matt was preceded in death by his father Sy Passen and brother-in-law Franz Bruckner.
He is survived by his mother Lita Passen of Northbrook Ill., sisters Ellen (Jim) Zonka of Saukville, Wis., and Adrienne Passen-Bruckner of Passau, Germany.
He is also survived by a niece, nephew, cousins and their families and many friends.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff at Port of Hope and Horizon Hospice for their care, friendship and compassion.
Eernisse Funeral Homes is assisting the family. No services are planned.
