Fundraiser at Buechler Farms to be held July 25

    A fundraiser for a 4-year-old girl who has brain deformities and other maladies will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 25, at Buechler Farms in Belgium.
    Food, games, music, raffles, a silent auction and a 1:30 p.m. magic show by Juka the Deception Artist are part of the event.
    The goal of the fundraiser is to raise $2,500 to purchase a bike that Avery Jean can be strapped into and pushed from behind so she can feel like any other child.
    Avery was hitting all her milestones until she suffered a seizure at 6 months. She was then diagnosed with polymicrogyria, or deformities of the brain, and later with alternating hemiplegia of childhood, which causes different parts of her body to be paralyzed for anywhere from seconds to days.
