Man is seriously injured in lawn mower accident

A Town of Belgium senior citizen was seriously injured in a lawn mower accident on Saturday.

Just before noon, the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on Lake Church Road and found an 86-year-old man had fallen off his riding lawn mower, according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office.

While on the ground, the lawn mower remained in motion and the tiller towed by the mower drove over the man’s arm.

Deputies treated the man, who was taken to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa via a Flight for Life helicopter.

The man’s condition and name were not released.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Belgium Fire Department.
