Town panel to discuss ATVs
The months-long debate over whether to allow all-terrain and utility vehicles on Town of Belgium roads with speed limits of 35 mph or less will be discussed by the Plan Commission on Wednesday, June 16.
A proposal by the Belgium-based Lakeshore ATV/UTV Club last summer drew more than 80 people to a Plan Commission meeting that was held in Community Park.
Passion runs high for and against the proposal, which has also been discussed in other area municipalities, including the Town of Port Washington. The Town of Fredonia approved allowing the vehicles on its roads.
The Plan Commission meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 171 Main St.
