LETTER: Fritsch committed in every way to education of our children

In all the years I have resided in Port Washington, I have never been more disheartened by what I am seeing, hearing and reading in our community about the Port Washington-Saukville School Board. The upcoming school board election will surely be a pivotal point in our community’s future.

Recent public forums, social media posts and letters to the editor have fueled a contentious debate about who will best serve this community’s children and their education, but they have failed to introduce you to the phenomenal candidate, Brenda Fritsch.

Brenda has served on our School Board for nine years and is the current board president. Her passion for the educational programs for the 2,400 children our district serves is unquestionable. She has put in hundreds of hours volunteering since her own children entered our schools. I’m not sure it is even possible to list all of the ways she has donated her time, energy and talent. I do know that she was an important member of the School Board that passed the referendum that made possible all of the beautiful and necessary construction in our schools.

School Board members must juggle local, state and federal educational mandates as well as hiring, terminating, retirements and requests for maternity leave. Serving on the board is an enormous commitment physically, mentally, emotionally.

Brenda is the most intelligent, ethical and hard working individual I know. She does not make any decisions without first researching options and analyzing data. This includes setting aside her personal opinions to do what is best for the district. She is honest, compassionate and selfless. She takes her job as a School Board member seriously, bravely facing potential setbacks and disagreements with integrity and honesty.

Our district needs Brenda’s leadership and passion as a voice among the nine elected School Board members. Vote for Brenda Fritsch.
