The Bash must go on

Seven bands, including a member of the Alex Wilson Band (top photo), performed at Community Park last Friday and Saturday during the Belgium Blues Bash. Hundreds attended the event sponsored by the Paramount Music Association, including Marshall Gantzarow (below). Blues Bash co-founder Peter Raymond said the Friday evening rainstorm that drenched the area missed Belgium and the music and crowds were good. Social distancing was allowed through picnic table reservations and spots on the grass. The event was to be held in conjuction with the Melvin Wester American Legion Post 412’s annual corn roast and the Belgium Area Chamber of Commerce’s Summer Nights LIVE, but those were canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
