Landt-Thiel Legion to serve as checkpoint in benefit ride for veterans
Landt-Thiel American Legion Post 470 in Saukville will participate in the annual Ride for Homeless Veterans as one of the checkpoint locations on Saturday, Aug. 29.
The ride, which includes motorcycles and other vehicles, is sponsored by the Henrizi-Schneider American Legion Post 382 in Menomonee Falls.
It will begin at 9 a.m. and reach Legion Hall in Saukville about 11:30 a.m., organizers said. Food, beverages and raffles will be offered at the Saukville location from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Other stops will be made at Legion posts in Kewaskum, Hubertus, West Bend, West Allis and Mequon-Thiensville.
Proceeds will benefit the Milwaukee HomelessVeterans Initiative.
