Flag Day puts the pride on display

The Covid-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of many traditional activities on Flag Day, including ceremonies at the Americanism Center and Stony Hill School, but the annual parade through Waubeka wasn’t among them. Hundreds of people participated in and viewed the procession, including the Kirmse brothers, Michael, 11, and Jason, 10 (above).

A color guard helped lead the parade.

Oakley Sigler, 3, was among the happiest children to watch from the sidelines.

Smiles were everywhere among spectators who watched the Flag Day parade in Waubeka on Sunday, June 14. Lisa Cole looked on with pride as Hazel, 2, held a flag.

Christine Mack and Andrea Leonard shared an embrace along with patriotic colors.
