A salute to those who fell

Saukville’s annual Memorial Day parade was canceled due to coronavirus concerns, but a graveside service was held Monday, May 25, that included an honor guard rifle salute (top photo). While the event was not open to the general public, Joe Tippy (middle photo), wearing a mask, and other veterans attended. The event was sponsored by the Landt-Thiel American Legion Post 470. (Bottom Photo) On Friday, May 22, poppies were distributed to those who drove to the American Legion Hall. Pictured are Legion member Don Race and Legion Commander Denise Jamrozy as they handed poppies to an unidentified driver. Donations from the poppy distribution benefit disabled veterans.
