LETTER: Voters beware: State may not have your registration record

To Ozaukee Press:

I would like to point out something that voters should find quite concerning.

Today, I was trying to request an absentee ballot through myvote.wi.gov, but I couldn’t find my name listed, no matter how I tried or what I did. I ended up having to re-register.

The interesting part is that the page showed that I had no voter history whatsoever.

Nothing at all, despite me not having missed a single election in the past couple years, including the recent Wisconsin Supreme Court primary.

The system shows no record of me at all.
It appears that I have been purged or deleted.

Was it a glitch in the system? I don’t know.

All I know is that I fear that I might not be the only one this is happening to.

I urge fellow voters to make sure they are registered to vote.

If something doesn’t look right, they should reach out to the Wisconsin

Elections Commission, as I plan to do.
