LETTER: Being a jerk is not a crime, so get over impeaching Trump

To Ozaukee Press:

I am not a member of the Republican or Democratic party.

I did not vote for Donald Trump in 2016.

I consider him to be crass and demeaning to the office of the United States presidency.  

This being said, no matter how hard members of the Democratic Party wish, they cannot change the fact that he was elected to this office.

Period.

End of discussion.

You call me a racist if I vote for him or support Trump’s policies.

Trying to shame people into submission and force them on to the defensive has been the point of too many arguments.

Exactly how does that make me a racist?

Is it racist and evil for a nation to ask if its residents are citizens of that nation?

Since 2016, we have constantly heard about impeachment of the president.

What exactly has he done to warrant impeachment?

Being a jerk really is not a crime.  

The Democratic Party has been in the majority in the House of Representatives since January 2018.

What have they accomplished besides endless investigations? 

How about our southern border?

Other than a bunch of photo ops, what has been done by either party to alleviate this “manufactured crisis?”

Telling me that the migrants are being housed in concentration camps (ever been to Auchswitz?) just does not cut it anymore.

How about members of both parties starting to do the jobs they were elected for instead of preening in front of some TV camera.

Whether they are members of the Democratic or Republican party, they represent all of the people in their district.

The slate of presidential candidates want to redo our health care and payments system once again.

I thought the Affordable Care Act was supposed to accomplish this feat.

I personally think that members of Congress on both sides of the aisle do not have the skills, ability or desire to do this.
