Port artist’s sculpture is Best of Show at festival
A sculpture by Port Washington artist, c.t. whitehouse was awarded a “Best Of Show” award at the Milwaukee Lakefront Festival of Art last weekend.
The sculpture “Arkansas Float,” a 6-foot-wide bronze boat form set above a pedestal of flowing water greeted attendees at the entrance to the festival at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
“Arkansas Float” will be delivered this week to Little Rock, Ark., to be added to the Sculpture at River Market Collection along the Arkansas River, a program created by the National Sculptor’s Guild.
Since 1996, Whitehouse has been a fellow with the guild, which is based in Colorado and dedicated to the placement of art for public enhancements.
Whitehouse is known for his bronze vessels with rich patinas and reflective bronze elements.
His work has been placed with public, private and corporate collections across the country and is part of collections in four U.S. Embassies overseas.
Whitehouse’s sculptures are represented in Wisconsin by Edgewood Orchard Gallery in Fish Creek.
