LETTER: Rewarding state firms that cut jobs no way to boost economy

To Ozaukee Press:

It was disappointing to learn that the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. gave nearly half a million dollars to a company that cut more jobs than it created, and failed to recover more than $400,000 in tax credits and $4 million in loans from other companies.

There were WEDC failures at many levels. In addition to the financial losses, the state bureaucracy’s poor performance has resulted in voter distrust.

They’re not paying attention to us or to the work at hand. Maybe that was the major reason why Foxconn selected Wisconsin for its huge factory.
