Railroad crossing work to close Highway 60 in village
Wisconsin Central will be replacing the railroad crossing in the Village of Grafton along Highway 60 between Ninth and 11th avenues beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22.
Highway 60 will be closed at the crossing only and a signed detour route will be in effect along I-43, Mequon Road and Wauwatosa Road. All private driveways will be accessible for the duration of the project.
Work is expected to be completed by Friday, Oct. 26.
Due to lower traffic volume, the village’s public works department will perform other maintenance work along Highway 60. Residents may see additional daily closures between First and 12th avenues.
For more information, Wisconsin Central’s public inquiry number is (888) 888-5909 and public works department’s is 375-5325.
