Port swimmers continue to improve despite lopsided loss vs. Nicolet

Nicolet pounded Port Washington’s High School swim team last Thursday, 129-3, but the Pirates’ times continue to drop.

Sophomore Sydney Hannert scored seven individual points.

She was second in the 100-meter breaststroke in 1 minute, 26.26 seconds and third in the 200 individual medley in 2:42.28.

Freshman Kamryn Lapacek scored six points.

She was third in the 50 freestyle in 27.76 and the 100 freestyle in 1:01.59.

Port took third in the 200 medley with Elaina Wichmann, Hannert, Erin Grisar and Lapacek finishing in 2:16.37 and third in the 200 freestyle relay with Wichmann, Leah Sheriff, Sarah Howell and Lapacek finishing in 2:04.75.

We had a great meet against the formidable Nicolet. Most of the girls are very new to this sport and it will take some time to close the gap. 

We know they can do it and look forward to seeing their progress,” co-coach Danielle Peiffer said.

Port next hosts an invite on Saturday.
