The Village of Belgium has hired Nick Thill as temporary building inspector.

Belgium has had Roger Kison as its building inspector for at least 15 years, Treasurer Vickie Boehnlein said.

“He was off for a period of time for a medical issue,” she said.

Village Clerk Theresa Bartley said she isn’t sure on Kison’s status, which is why the village hired Thill.

“We just needed somebody to fill in. That’s what we’re doing to get by,” Bartley said.

The Village Board on Nov. 9 will discuss Thill’s availability.

“We don’t know what his plans are as far as full-time commitment or part-time commitment,” Bartley said.

Thill is also the building inspector for the Town of Port Washington and the assistant building inspector for the Village of Grafton.
