Rebecca ‘Becky’ Luft

Rebecca “Becky” Luft, age 50 years, was called home to be with the Lord on July 27, 2026.

Becky was born on July 23, 1976, at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Port Washington to Wayne and Linda Luft. Shortly after, Becky was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Newburg.

As a child, Becky loved being part of 4-H, showing beef, rabbits and dogs.

Becky graduated in 1994 from Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School. The year after, she completed a certificate program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for farm and industry short course.

She worked at the Ozaukee County Humane Society and fostered many animals.

Becky was then hired at the Zoological Society of Milwaukee, where she worked for 22 years as a membership programs coordinator. She was so loved by her coworkers and members of the Zoological Society. Becky handled hundreds of animal sponsorships and brought in money for the society. She built connections between guests and animals.

Becky always wanted to do more for the society. Becky was known for doing so much while remaining cool, calm and collected.

Those Becky leaves behind to cherish her memory include her parents Wayne and Linda (nee Mathe) Luft and her brother Jonathan (Rebecca) Luft. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Becky was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Waldemar and Arlene (nee Wilkens) Luft and her maternal grandparents Ervin and Melva (nee Hill) Mathe.

Becky’s family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, from 3 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Newburg, 623 Congress Dr., West Bend, Wis.

A memorial service in remembrance of Becky will take place at 5 p.m. on Friday at the church, with Pastor Kurt Schaser officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials in Becky’s name to the Zoological Society of Milwaukee or Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School.

Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Becky’s arrangements.
