PHOTO OP-ED: Sailboat at speed close-up

The audience at the Port Washington pierhead lighthouse got a dramatic view—close up with spray flying—of a sailboat finishing the Lake Michigan Clipper Cup race in a fresh breeze on Friday. Home port of the boat, a 43-foot sloop named Lady K, is Muskegon, Mich., the starting point of the annual race across Lake Michigan sponsored by the Port Washington and Muskegon yacht clubs. Thirty-one boats competed in the race, including three from Port.
