YOU PIX: Behold a surfing pelican

During their unusually long stay in Ozaukee County waters this season, white pelicans have been photographed fishing with their enormous bills and flying with their nine-foot wingspan, but this photo by Kate Redmond shows that pelicans can also surf on Lake Michigan waves. Kate, who lives in Oostburg, wrote: “I took this picture near Harrington Beach State Park recently. I’ve been enjoying the pelican invasion. Surf’s up!”
