LETTER: Grothman is in hiding, but he will have to face a challenger

To Ozaukee Press:

On March 5, a resolution directing the president to remove U.S. armed forces from unauthorized hostilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran came before the House of Representatives for a vote. The sponsor of the resolution was Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Kentucky). Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-Wisconsin) voted nay.

President Trump bombed Iran without congressional approval, risking U.S. troops and escalating conflict in the Middle East.

Grothman cares little about the sons and daughters of Wisconsin families going off to an illegal war and possibly losing their lives. If Baron Trump were joining those military ranks, we could better understand the significance of Trump’s war.

Trump was quoted by the media saying he had a feeling Iran was going to attack the U.S. and so he chose to be the first aggressor.

American presidents do not go to war based on feelings. American presidents speak to the nation to defend their decisions and clarify their rationale.

Grothman is a yes man hiding behind Trump’s coattails. Like most Republicans, he does not hold in-person listening sessions at his Wisconsin office.

Later in the year, a new candidate coming out of Mequon will be challenging

Grothman for the right to represent Wisconsin voters in Washington. Brad

Smith is articulate, conscientious and driven to make Congress a better institution. If you get an opportunity to hear Brad Smith speak, you will hear a candidate who is not hiding from the voters of Wisconsin. Brad wants to know what the people think. Glenn Grothman, your time is up.
