Riveredge activities include yoga, trivia

A variety of activities, including storytimes and trivia, are scheduled in the coming weeks at Riveredge Nature Center in the Town of Saukville.

A Spring Break Storytime will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 30, followed by trivia at 1 p.m.

Storytime for children ages 3 to 6 will be at the Visitor Center and will include a fairy-themed story, fairy crafts and time to write notes to the resident gnome Robbie. Trivia will also be held at the Visitor Center. Encompassing topics that include mammals, insects and amphibians, the event is open to adults and children.

A free spring break bird adaptations program will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 1.

A bird-banding demonstration will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Hands-on activities, such as feeling an owl’s talons to examining various beaks and learning about their differences, will be held during the session for children to age 12.

Riveredge’s annual egg hunts will be held at 10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Saturday, April 4.

The events for children from age 1 to 10 includes a one-mile hike with stations where children can gather eggs. Some eggs will be filled with candy-free, some with nature inspired objects and others with tickets that can be redeemed for a prize.

The cost is $5 for children of Riveredge members and $10 for children of nonmembers. Supervising adults participate for free.

Yoga will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Wednesdays, April 1, 15 and 29.

Participants are invited to meditate on a seasonal theme of growth while instructor Samantha Lammers leads a beginner/intermediate yoga flow. Each week the flow will gently increase the challenge.

The fee for all three sessions is $28 for members and $42 for nonmembers.

Individual sessions are $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers.
