Bike drive to be held in Grafton on April 25

The Ozaukee Mountain Bike Club will host its second annual bike drive Saturday, April 25, at Veterans Memorial Park in Grafton.

Bikes will be collected from 9 a.m. to noon. People may also arrange to have bikes picked up.

The club is looking for both children and adult bikes needing minor repairs, bikes that have been outgrown or are just unused.

All donated bikes will be refurbished and prepared for new riders, making cycling more accessible while keeping usable equipment out of landfills.

Last year’s drive brought in more than  100 bikes that were refurbished and redistributed to new riders through Dreambikes in Milwaukee.

This year, the club is expanding its impact by partnering with both Dreambikes and Wheel & Sprocket, strengthening the pipeline from dusty garage relic to trail-ready ride.

“We know there are countless bikes sitting unused in basements and garages,” Club President Mark Clegg said “Our goal is simple, to get those bikes back on roads or trails and into the hands of someone who will ride them.”
