James R. “Jim” Dady Jr.

James R. “Jim” Dady Jr., age 70, of Elkhorn, Wis., died at home on Friday Jan. 16, 2026.

Jim was the son of James Sr. and Janet (Beattie) Dady, born on April 8, 1955, in Milwaukee, Wis.

Jim grew up in Port Washington, Wis., where he made many connections and worked until moving to the Delavan area in the 1980s.

Jim was married at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church to Cheryl L. Person on 03/04/05, a date chosen by Jim so he could easily remember their anniversary.

Jim and Cheryl took motorcycle rides every Saturday. Jim very much loved riding his motorcycle and meeting up with others who would ride too. He even took a long-distance trip to Kansas with a very close friend a number of years ago. Jim also enjoyed playing and watching golf. He always enjoyed watching the Masters as it normally fell on his birthday.

Overall, Jim loved his family with all of his heart, he loved his friends and he adored his grandchildren. Jim will be deeply missed by all of them.

Jim is survived by his wife Cheryl, children Christopher Dady, Nicole Kapp and Rachale Bies, eight wonderful grandchildren, sisters Karen (John) Wilde and Coleen Bourgeois, many nieces and nephews and many close, loving friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Jim Bourgeois.

A celebration open house of Jim’s life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at the Delavan American Legion Post 95, 111 S. 2nd St., Delavan, Wis.
