Glenn W. Blumenberg

Glenn W. Blumenberg of Port Washington passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025, at the age of 80.
He was born the beloved son of John and Lena (Effenheim) Blumenberg on Oct. 18, 1944.
Glenn was united in marriage with Mary Ann Barber on May 29, 1965, and together they raised two wonderful children.
Glenn’s 42 years of dedicated service at Simplicity Mfg. showcased his remarkable mechanical skills and unwavering work ethic. He approached every task with a meticulous nature, instilling a strong sense of determination and integrity in his children.
A true car enthusiast, Glenn found joy in tinkering with cars, Simplicity tractors and sharing his knowledge with family and friends.
As a couple, Glenn and Mary Ann created countless memories together, including a memorable anniversary trip to the United Kingdom. They enjoyed trying new restaurants and getting out from time to time.
Glenn really enjoyed working, and that showed in his willingness to lend a helping hand to neighbors and family, whether it was tackling home projects or providing support with car troubles.
Glenn’s memory will be cherished by his wife Mary Ann, his children Mark (Michelle) Blumenberg and Mindy (Tom) Surges, grandchildren Zachary Surges and Regan Surges and cousin Leonard Berndt. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Dennis and Gene Blumenberg.
In honor of Glenn’s wishes, there will be no formal services held.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Silverado North Shore for their unwavering compassion and care during Glenn’s final days.
Eernisse Funeral Home of Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
