Three to receive 4-H Key Awards this year
Three Ozaukee County 4-H members will receive Wisconsin 4-H Key Awards, the highest recognition a 4-H member can receive at the county level.
They are Alaina Jarmuz, Cori Milam and Rebecca Gierach.
Jarmuz, a 10-year member of the Cloverleaf 4-H Club, has excelled in the horse, clothing and art projects while holding club officer roles, including treasurer, vice president and president. She volunteers regularly at the County Fair and 4-H events and served as a delegate on the American Spirit Trip to the East Coast.
Milam, a member of Covered Bridge 4-H Club, has shown exceptional growth and leadership during her 10 years in 4-H. She has held every club officer role, and was the 2023-24 Miss Ozaukee 4-H, led projects in rabbits and sheep and actively supports events such as the Clover Café and 4-H Haunt.
Gierach, a 12-year member of Lindenwood 4-H Club, is known for extensive project involvement and youth mentorship. She has taken leadership roles in the dog, crocheting and woodburning projects, and coordinates the popular “Meet the 4-H Animals” exhibit at the County Fair. She also served as an Adventure Camp counselor and currently serves as Miss Ozaukee 2024–2025.
“Their commitment to leading by example, helping others grow and stepping into roles that challenge and grow their skills is exactly what the Key Award celebrates,” Abigail Quinlan, 4-H program educator, said.
