Grafton grad honored with Bucky award
Grafton High School graduate Sarah Bloemer has received The Most Engaged Award at Bucky’s Award Ceremony at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on April 6.
Bloemer was honored for her involvement across multiple organizations. As president of both Optima Dance and the Actuarial Club, she spearheaded initiatives such as a costume reuse program to reduce financial barriers in dance and strengthened student-faculty partnerships in the risk and insurance community.
She logged nearly 100 service hours with Alpha Phi Omega and Math Motivators and has helped build Optima Dance’s membership by nearly 40% and fostered diversity initiatives in actuarial science.
“She leads not for recognition but to empower others to grow, connect and thrive,” ceremony coordinator Alex Holland said.
Bloemer is expected to graduate from the university in May with majors in actuarial science and risk management and insurance with a leadership certificate.
