Lightkeeper program is topic for June 11 talk

Tobi and Jack Graham, who have been resident lightkeepers at 17 lighthouses, will present a program about lightkeepers at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 11.

The Grahams, who will stay at the Light Station in Port Washington as lightkeepers from May 25 to June 16, will discuss the many other lighthouses where they have served in this role.

Mr. Graham is a retired Pennsylvania State Park Manager who with his wife have spent part of each summer since he retired in 2005 as docents at lighthouses across the United States and Canada.

He writes articles in professional journals on lighthouse history, operation and lore.

The couple’s presentation will be at the Port Washington State Bank Community Room, 218 E. Washington St.

Advance registration is required and may be done online at https://www.pwhistory.org/events.

There is no fee for members of the Port Washington Historical Society, which operates the Light Station and is sponsoring the program, but there is a $10 fee for nonmembers.
