Eghart House annual meeting is May 13

The annual meeting  for the Judge Eghart House will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 13, at the Port Washington State Bank Community Room in downtown Port.

Leslie Bellais, the former curator of social history at the Wisconsin Historical Museum, will present, “Rituals of Romance: A History of Courtship and Weddings, 1830-1990,” sharing details of historical wedding outfits.

While Ballais retired in January 2019, she continues to give programs on the history of clothing, textiles, quilts, dolls and toys.

A short business meeting will start the evening.

Refreshments will be served.

The community room is at 218 E. Washington St.

The Eghart House, a Victorian restoration at 302 W. Grand Ave., is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

The entry fee is $3 for adults and $1 for children.
