Ozaukee Family Services to host award-winning author Mitchard for Nov. 14 event

Well-known author Jacquelyn Mitchard will be the speaker for the Ozaukee Family Services fall luncheon on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

The event will be held at The Watermark at Shully’s in Thiensville, with registration at 10:30 a.m. and the program at 11 a.m.

  Those attending will receive a copy of Mitchard’s newest book, “A Very Inconvenient Scandal,” which goes on sale Nov. 14. The book is a family drama that explores the emotional consequences of loyalty, deception and jealousy.

  Mitchard is the New York Times best-selling author of 22 novels and the recipient of numerous awards. Her first novel, “The Deep End of the Ocean,” was the inaugural selection of the Oprah Winfrey Book Club.

Mitchard is a Chicago native who has taught at various universities, and was a speechwriter for Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna E. Shalala during the first days of the Clinton administration and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
