YOUR PIX: They’re here! In Port Washington! The famous escaped sheep!

The wild and woolly story of the two escaped sheep whose peregrinations through Ozaukee County have become somewhat of a social media sensation took a significant turn last week when their presence in Port Washington and their precise location were documented in this photo by Amy Dillon. There they are—in the front yard of the Babcock home on the upper Main Street hill, contently grazing before a backdrop of the Port downtown. The farm animals were seen and photographed in a Mequon homeowner’s yard on Oct. 30. Since then, there have been numerous reports of sightings, some perhaps based on rumor and speculation. But Amy’s excellent photo settles it—they were in Port as recently as Saturday. They were content to stay awhile, with food and water Amy provided, but left when snowplows began noisily clearing nearby streets. No one has claimed ownership of the sheep. Photo by Amy Dillon
