Working hard to make sure everyone has a Thanksgiving meal

The weeks before Thanksgiving are busy times at area food pantries, where volunteers sort, pack and in some cases cook food to ensure everyone has a holiday meal. At the Food Pantry Inc.’s new headquarters in Port Washington, (from left in top photo) Jean Wildhagen, Joyce Brost and Sharon Volkmann held one of the boxes containing a Thanksgiving feast that are given to those in need. At the Ozaukee Food Alliance in Saukville (below), Rich Minor and Jacalyn Havard packed take-away Thanksgiving dinners during the food pantry’s community meal Saturday, which was prepared and served by Vineyard Church in Grafton.   Photos by Sam Arendt
