Woman’s Club to install officers, end year May 14

The Port Washington Women’s Club will celebrate the end of the 2017-18 year with a banquet and installation of officers on Monday, May 14.

The event will be held at Five Pillars Supper Club in Random Lake, with entertainment provided by Port Washington High School’s award winning a capella group Limited Edition providing entertainment.

The new officers being installed include President Kathy Bahrke, First Vice Presidents Pat Rakowski and Kathy Chromy, Second Vice President Sharon Hubing, Recording Secretary Donna Rasche, Corresponding Secretary Sue Steinhoff and Treasurer Michele Schmitz.

The officers will serve two-year terms.

This year, the club and its members provided $1,621 to the Port Washington Woman’s Club Scholarship Fund, $500 to the City of Port Washington Coal Dock Park railing, $25 to the Legion Auxiliary Post #82 poppy drive, $100 to the Niederkorn Library,  $50 to the General Federation of Women’s Clubs Junior, and $455 in various donations to the Food Pantry.

The club also purchased 200 copies of the book “A Dog Named Hope,” which benefits childhood cancer research, and donated them to the Port Washington-Saukville School District.

The Port Washington Woman’s Club meets in the Fellowship Hall at Friedens Evangelical Church, 454 N. Milwaukee St.  A social hour begins at 11 a.m. followed by a luncheon, business meeting and program.
