Winners show off fish in Lions Derby

 

Winners in the 44th annual Port Washington Lions Club Fish Derby posed with their catches Sunday. Jenna Hullett (front) of Ithaca, N.Y., held her 29.5-pound chinook salmon. In the back row (from left) Don Kuwalski of Oak Creek held his 17.7-pound laker, Randy Mueller of Oostburg held his 11.8-pound brown trout and Corby Jardanowski of Peshtigo held his 11.1-pound rainbow trout (right). Missing from the photo was Peshtigo’s Tom Camps, who won with an 8.1-pound coho salmon held by Jardanowski. Each winner received $252. Camps also won the grand prize drawing for $1,008. The derby included 144 anglers, up from 131 last year. Second-place awards of $115.20 went to Michael Hanson, Marion, 26.8-pound chinook salmon; Tina Brunette, Wausaukee, 6.3-pound coho salmon; Tim Bauer, Union, Mo., 9-pound rainbow trout; and Brian Settle, Menomonee Falls, 6-pound brown trout and 17.2-pound laker. Third-place prizes of $52.40 went to Mike Reifsnider, Juneau, 26.3-pound chinook salmon; Chad Andrea, Port Washington, 1.2-pound coho salmon; Jordan Schwanz, Port Washington, 7.1-pound rainbow trout; and Cullen Schmolbt, West Bend, 14.9-pound laker.       Photo by Sam Arendt
