William Howard Adams

William Howard Adams of Port Washington passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 13, 2024.

William, better known professionally as “Bill” or “Willy” to his close family and friends, was born on Dec. 8, 1950, in Ankeny, Iowa, to Virgina Dennis Adams and Robert Adams.

He graduated from Iowa State University in 1973, then went on to work as an inside sales engineer for Novaspect and retired after 43 years with the company.

Willy married the love of his life, Renee Oetker, and after moving to Port Washington, Wis., together they raised two children, Nicholas and Shannon.

Willy was known around the community for being the scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 875 and a member of the St. John’s XXIII Men’s Society. And, as a lifelong golfer, he spent as much time on the course as the weather permitted.

Willy and Renee spent much of their retirement traveling with their dear friends Jan and Loras Lux. Whether a road trip or an international cruise, Willy was always looking for the next destination for the four of them to visit, reaching as far as the Panama Canal.

However, Willy found the most joy in his family. From being known as fun Uncle Bill to Dad, Willy had many titles, but none better than grandpa to his grandson Ben and granddaughters Lily and Annabelle.

Willy is survived by his wife Renee Adams, son Nick (Pam) Adams, daughter Shannon (Kyle) Adams, brother Jim (Linda) Adams, sister Jane (Dick) Shafer, three nephews and one niece.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
