Water at dog park on hold

Dog owners hoping to give their pooches a drink at Pepi’s Playground are going to have to wait.

Village of Belgium Public Works Director Dan Birenbaum said the plan to install a yard hydrant at the dog park at 807 Silver Beach Road is on hold after he discovered the water lateral is 300 feet from the park.

“I thought it was closer than that,” he said.

Birenbaum said he is getting quotes to bore under the road. He will see if that’s cheaper than connecting to the lateral.
