Voting is by drive-up now

Village of Belgium residents don’t have to exit their vehicles to participate in the April 7 general election.

The village is running drive-up polls in which voters are requested to pull into the posted parking spot at Village Hall, 104 Peter Thein Ave., and stay in their cars. Village Clerk Julie Lesar will come out to assist the voter with absentee voting or registering.

A photo ID is required to receive a ballot.

Absentee voting hours are from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays until April 2.

Absentee ballots are also available by mail. Visit myvote.wi.gov/en-us for more information.

Completed forms may be returned by mail, left in the drop box near the front door of Village Hall or emailed to villagehall@village.belgium.wi.us.

Absentee voting in the town is done by mail but Clerk Ginger Murphy said she is willing to meet residents who want to do it in person.
