Vivian Hamann

Mrs. Vivian Hamann of Port Washington passed away Saturday afternoon, Nov. 26, 2022, at Port Haven, where she had been residing for the last 15 years. She was 88 years old.

  Vivian was born in Milwaukee on March 30, 1934, the daughter of Herbert and Ruth Dunham Peterson.

  On July 28, 1951, Vivian was united in marriage with Richard F. Hamann in Milwaukee. The couple were blessed with three children. They moved to Saukville in the 1970s.

Richard preceded her in death in 1989.

  Mrs. Hamann was employed as an activities director for Lutheran Social Services and retired in 2000.

She was a member of Living Hope Lutheran Church in Saukville. She was a founding member of Interfaith Caregivers and a member of the Red Hat Society and the Port Washington Senior Center.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and crafts. Vivian was also an avid reader.

Survivors include her three children, Richard (Sue) Hamann of Jackson, John Hamann of Saukville and Mary Lee (Larry) Johnson of Elkin, N.C., five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is further survived by three sisters, Linda and Donna Peterson and Betty (the late Richard) Wing, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Richard.

  A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington.  Chaplain Steve Cornelius will preside. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from noon until service at 1 p.m.

Vivian will be laid to rest beside her husband at Highland Memorial Park.

  Memorials, if desired, are suggested in lieu of flowers.
