Village ballot not finalized for April election
The April ballot for the Cedar Grove-Belgium School Board has been set but the Village of Belgium’s won’t be ready until 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10.
Incumbent trustees Clem Gottsacker and Don Gotcher are running again, but Victor Lecato is not. Lecato, however, did not turn in non-candidacy papers, which extends the Tuesday filing deadline by 72 hours, according to state law.
Newcomers Howie Manos and Sarah Heisler are also running for trustee seats.
Three seats are up for election.
Trustees serve two-year terms.
The School Board has two sets of two people each running for one seat.
Incumbent Nancy Niebauer is running for the Ozaukee County seat, along with newcomer Gail Kowalkowski, who served as a village trustee from 2016 to 2018.
Incumbent Aileen Dahlke is running for the Sheboygan County seat, along with newcomer Phil Burns.
School Board members serve three-year terms.
Voters in the district may vote for any of the candidates, regardless of where they live.
