Village applies for 3% water-rate hike
The Village of Fredonia’s Municipal Water Utility last week applied to the state Public Service Commission for authority to impose a 3% general water-rate hike that would go into effect Sept. 28.
No public hearing on the proposed rate increase is required by law.
Under the rate change, the average residential (12,000 gallons) quarterly water rate would increase from $53.05 to $54.66, according to the utility.
The average quarterly rate for a large residential home (18,500 gallons) would increase from $72.16 to $74.36.
Questions on the proposed increase can be directed to the utility by calling 692-9125.
