Village’s 2021 budget goes to public hearing Nov. 30

A public hearing on the proposed 2021 Village of Saukville budget will be held at 6:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at the Saukville Police Department, 649 E. Green Bay Ave.

The proposed budget calls for an increase of 0.94% in the total property tax levy to $3.14 million and a 1.36% increase in total expenditures to $3.69 million.

The operating budget will increase 1.62% while the capital budget will decrease 4.8%.

Debt service will increase 5.17% to $1.18 million due to the Bucktrout and Tower street project, improvements at Grady Park and the purchase of fire department and public works vehicles.

The tax rate will increase 9 cents per $1,000 of assessed valuation to $7.38. That means the owner of a $250,000 house will pay $1,845 in village property taxes, up $22.50 from last year.

The Village Board will meet immediately following the public hearing to vote on adopting the budget.
