Upskill-a-Thon career classes to be offered by United Way

United Way of Northern Ozaukee is holding Upskill-a-Thon, a statewide challenge designed to help people gain in-demand skills and advance their careers by completing free courses offered by CommunityUpskill.org.

The free courses will be offered through March 31, and those participating have the chance to win cash prizes.

“United Way of Northern Ozaukee is proud to share opportunities that help our neighbors build skills and strengthen their futures,” Executive Director Barbara Bates-Nelson said.

“The Community Upskill-a-Thon is an incredible opportunity for individuals across Wisconsin to gain valuable skills and open doors to new possibilities at no cost.”

The courses, which cover digital literacy, business, technology and professional development, are offered to people at any stage of their career, from students to professionals seeking advancement to people starting a digital journey.

Courses will be offered in English and Spanish, and participants may cover the material at their own pace.

Participants may visit CommunityUpskill.org to learn about the courses and complete a form to register for the Upskill-a-Thon at https://wkf.ms/4jpF4zE.

They may then sign up for a free LinkedIn account and choose the courses or pathways they want to participate in. For every course or pathway completed, participants will be asked to take a screenshot or download their certification and submit the form at https://wkf.ms/4sApTrR by March 31.

Each course completed counts for one point and each pathway for 10 points.

At the end, the top five learners with the most points will receive cash rewards ranging from $50 to $1,000.

The challenge was designed by United Way Fox Cities with key funding provided by Microsoft.
