Unopposed candidates cruise to victories

The unopposed candidates easily won their races in the village and town of Belgium and the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District on Tuesday.

In the village, Village President Pete Anzia received 233 votes to retain his seat. Trustees Josh Borden (206 votes), Rose Sauers (205) and Dan Wolff (190) kept their seats.

In the town, Chairman Tom Winker received 182 votes to retain his seat. Suprs. Bill Janeshek (175) and Tom Bichler (180) kept their seats as well. Clerk Ginger Murphy got 229 votes and Treasurer Dayle Parks got 213.

Village and town officials serve two-year terms.

Between Ozaukee and Sheboygan counties, Cedar Grove-Belgium School Board members Daniel Bruhn (606 votes), Kurt Kraus (609) and Laura Schieffer (598) retained their seats. Board members serve three-year terms.
