Tree lighting to return Sunday night

The annual Grafton Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, in the Paramount Plaza. 

In addition to more than 24 decorated trees lining the plaza, the event will feature live music, hot chocolate and cookies.

Jolly the Elf will collect letters to Santa from children and hand out treats. Youngsters are reminded to include their name and address on each letter so Mr. Claus can send prompt replies.

During the festivities, the Grafton Area Chamber of Commerce will present its annual award for outstanding citizens at Atlas BBQ. This year’s recipients are brothers Robert and Richard Rieck, who founded the Sons of the American Legion Post in Grafton and have made numerous contributions to local charities and organizations through their business, Heinz & Sons 57 Auto Body.

The Chamber will also recognize the Ozaukee County Jail Literacy Program with its Community Group Award.
