April 2023 will be the end of an era in the Town of Belgium since Town Clerk Ginger Murphy isn’t seeking re-election.

Murphy, who is in her 20th year on the job, said she filled out noncandidacy papers.

The town clerk is one of several positions up for election on April 4.

The others include posts held by Chairman Tom Winker, supervisors Bill Janeshek and Tom Bichler and Treasurer Dale Parks.

All these positions are for two-year terms.

For town nomination forms, contact Murphy by email at townofbelgium@frontier.com or visit elections.wi.gov.

In the Village of Belgium, the spots held by Village President Pete Anzia and trustees Roseann Geib, Dan Wolff and Rose Sauers are up for election. All are two-year terms.

Candidacy papers are available at Village Hall, 104 Peter Thein Ave., or  elections.wi.gov/candidates/getting-ballot.

Village Clerk Julie Lesar said Geib and Sauers have already turned in nomination papers.

In the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District, the Ozaukee County seat of Nancy Niebauer and the Sheboygan County seat of Aileen Dahlke are up for election.

Terms are for three years.

If a primary election is needed for any of the offices — if more than two people run for one position — it will be held Feb. 21.

Nomination papers are due 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3.
