The Town of Belgium purchased a big-screen TV using money with Covid-19 relief money, and Town Chairman Tom Winker list three uses for it this month.

The town could allow people to watch meetings via Zoom instead of attending in person if they’re apprehensive about going out due to the pandemic, he said.

The town could also consult its attorney and save on paying him mileage to travel from Waukesha, and it could allow a Plan Commission member who vacations in Texas to attend meetings online, he said.

Winker said he would like to use the TV for Town Board, Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals meetings.

The town is looking into yearly costs for the Zoom service.

“I’ve got to think about it for a bit.I like the in-person contact,” Supr. Tom Bichler said.
