Town to discuss higher recycling costs

The Town of Belgium will hear an update on a cost increase for recyclable materials from Advanced Disposal at its monthly 7 p.m. meeting on Monday. The trade war with China has led to a new cost of $12,800 that is slated to be implemented next year. The town had been paying nothing.

The town will also hear an update on county and state road projects from Ozaukee County Highway Commissioner Jon Edgren.

The town may also extend its conditional use permit moratorium for two months as it updates its zoning ordinances.
