Town to address purchasing teleconference equipment

The Belgium Town Board on Monday, March 1, may purchase teleconferencing equipment for residents to provide input at meetings without physically attending them.

Town Chairman Tom Winker said he has been approached about offering the option, especially during inclement weather and for people who don’t want to come due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Winker said he would prefer using a phone over signing up for a Zoom account since he said he doesn’t need to see  residents on camera.

Town Hall already has a phone line to use.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 171 Main St.
