The last trailer has been removed from 2046 Jay Rd., Town of Belgium Zoning Administrator Charlie Parks told the Town Board on Monday.

That means the $100 daily fine imposed on Dennis Dahm for having the trailers on his property — a violation of town ordinance — that went into effect in late September has been lifted. Parks said the last day was either Dec. 20 or 21.

“We’re not going to argue at $100 per day,” Town Chairman Tom Winker said about which day to stop the fine.

The town, he said, will have to talk to its attorney about how to assess the fine. The board would like Dahm to pay it off in one lump sum.

“It’s more of a pain to put it on the tax roll,” Supr. Bill Janeshek said. “That’s not an easy process.”

“I agree. 100%,” Winker said. “Let’s get it up front.”

Parks had said Dahm claims someone dropped three mobile homes on his property in the middle of the night and is suing the person in Sheboygan County Court for trespassing.

Dahm had submitted a certified survey map to the town for approval to split his property, which the town has declined to address until the trailer issue was resolved.

“We still have leverage,” Winker said.
